Greater Miami and Miami Beach Reach Major Milestone with Grand Hyatt Miami Beach Topping-Off

Greater Miami and Miami Beach have reached an exciting milestone in one of the destination's most anticipated hospitality developments. The Grand Hyatt Miami Beach, an 800-room headquarters hotel that will connect directly to the Miami Beach Convention Centre, has officially celebrated its topping-off ceremony—a significant step toward its planned opening in late 2027.

More than just another luxury hotel, the Grand Hyatt Miami Beach represents a transformative investment in the region's future as a leading destination for meetings, conventions, and major events. Once complete, the project will provide the missing link that industry leaders have long identified as essential to attracting larger citywide conventions and international trade shows.

A New Era for Meetings and Events in Miami Beach

For years, Greater Miami and Miami Beach have built a reputation as a world-class destination for leisure travel, business events, and global conferences. The renovation of the Miami Beach Convention Centre elevated the city's ability to host premier events, but the addition of a connected headquarters hotel has remained the final piece of the puzzle.

The Grand Hyatt Miami Beach will change that.

With 800 guestrooms—including 50 suites—alongside 110,000 square feet of flexible meeting and ballroom space, the hotel will seamlessly complement the Convention Centre's existing facilities. A climate-controlled skybridge will allow attendees to move directly between the hotel and convention centre, creating a more convenient and integrated experience for event organizers and guests.

According to destination leaders, this added capacity has already generated interest from major conventions and trade shows that previously could not consider Miami Beach due to the lack of a headquarters hotel.

Meeting Growing Demand

The timing of the project reflects the continued strength of Miami's tourism industry.

Greater Miami and Miami Beach welcomed an impressive 28.3 million visitors in 2025, reinforcing the destination's global appeal and highlighting the growing need for high-quality accommodations adjacent to the Convention Centre.

As convention business continues to rebound and expand, the Grand Hyatt Miami Beach will help position the destination to compete for larger, multi-day events that generate significant economic benefits for local businesses, restaurants, attractions, and hospitality partners.

More Than a Hotel

While the project is designed to serve convention attendees, its impact extends far beyond business trave

Developed by Terra and Turnberry, the hotel has been thoughtfully designed to strengthen the Convention Centre District while creating stronger connections to many of Miami Beach's cultural and civic landmarks, including Lincoln Road, the Miami Beach Botanical Garden, the Bass Museum, Miami City Ballet, the Holocaust Memorial, and the surrounding Arts District.

The development will also introduce pedestrian-friendly promenades, public gathering spaces, bike-sharing stations
