From major hotel transformations and exciting new restaurants to immersive cultural experiences and new attractions, Greater Miami & Miami Beach continues to evolve — giving travellers plenty of reasons to return.
There is always something new happening in Greater Miami & Miami Beach, and the third quarter of 2026 is no exception.
From the reopening of one of Miami Beach’s iconic Art Deco hotels following a multimillion-dollar renovation to the arrival of new culinary concepts, a new Gibson Garage in Wynwood and an exciting programme of arts and cultural events, the destination continues to invest, innovate and reinvent itself.
Here are some of the latest developments to put on your Miami radar.
New hotel experiences and major renovations
One of the most significant developments is taking shape next to the Miami Beach Convention Center, where the new Grand Hyatt Miami Beach has reached an important construction milestone. The 800-room, 17-storey hotel has topped out and is scheduled to open in late 2027.
Once completed, it will be directly connected to the Miami Beach Convention Center via a climate-controlled skybridge and will feature four floors of meeting and ballroom space, a rooftop pool deck, restaurants, bars and retail.
Meanwhile, the Royal Palm South Beach has returned to the Miami Beach scene following a more than $100 million renovation. Now part of Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio, the 404-room resort combines restored Art Deco architectural details with redesigned rooms and suites, new dining concepts, direct beach access and 18,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space.
Over at JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa, guests can enjoy a collection of new experiences, from the weekly Cascata Sunset Sips cocktail series and live vinyl DJ sessions to Italian-inspired aperitivo and intimate live music performances.
Even four-legged visitors are being catered for. InterContinental Miami has introduced Rocco, a virtual canine concierge offering personalised recommendations for dog-friendly parks, restaurants, attractions and walking routes around Greater Miami & Miami Beach.
Miami’s culinary scene continues to grow
Miami’s reputation as a global culinary destination continues to strengthen, with a host of new openings adding even more choice for food-loving visitors.
On Lincoln Road, Sulta Rosa brings together specialty coffee and handcrafted desserts, with an international influence that includes pastries, baklava and other sweet treats.
Vietnamese cuisine is also in the spotlight with Pho Nam, from the team behind Downtown Miami’s Tâm Tâm. Led by Chef Tam Pham and sommelier Harrison Ramhofer, the restaurant takes inspiration from traditional Saigon noodle shops, with pho at the heart of the menu.
Miami Beach’s specialty coffee scene is also expanding, with Casa Rassi opening its first permanent location on Park Avenue in South Beach after starting life as a local pop-up.
In Coconut Grove, Manoli brings Greek and Mediterranean flavours to Main Highway, while Sunset Harbour welcomes CHŌ Funky Asian Bistro, offering a playful menu influenced by Japanese, Chinese and Southeast Asian cuisine.
For those exploring Miami’s great outdoors, Oleta River Grill has opened at Oleta River State Park. Its waterfront location makes it an ideal stop for visitors combining dining with kayaking, cycling and exploration around Biscayne Bay.
And in Brickell, weekends now come with skyline views and brunch at Novotel Miami Brickell’s Vista Rooftop Bar & Lounge and UVA Restaurant & Bar.
A new destination for music lovers
Music fans have another reason to head to Wynwood this autumn.
On 10 September, Gibson will open Gibson Garage Miami, its third location worldwide after Nashville and London.
The 8,000-square-foot space will feature more than 500 guitars, a live performance stage, exclusive merchandise and the first Gibson Gallery in the US, showcasing music-inspired art and memorabilia.
For visitors, it promises to be much more than a traditional retail experience — offering an immersive celebration of music, guitars and the culture surrounding one of the world's best-known guitar brands.
Culture takes centre stage
Greater Miami & Miami Beach's cultural offering is also expanding.
The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts has announced its 2026–27 Arsht Impact season, featuring more than a dozen free and pay-what-you-can events celebrating the diverse communities that make Miami such a culturally rich destination.
The programme includes Día de Muertos celebrations, gospel, hip-hop, Haitian cultural programming, wellness events and family-friendly experiences.
Meanwhile, at The Betsy – South Beach, visitors can experience From Venice With Love, a major exhibition by Miami-based Haitian artist Edouard Duval-Carrié.
Running until 15 November, the exhibition explores themes including Caribbean history, migration, memory and identity. A programme of free artist talks, live music and cultural conversations will accompany the exhibition.
There’s always something happening
The coming weeks and months offer plenty more opportunities to experience Miami.
Miami Spice Restaurant Months continues through 30 September, providing the perfect excuse to explore the destination's diverse dining scene, while Bugtopia at Zoo Miami runs through 31 October.
Other upcoming highlights include the Orange Blossom Classic at Hard Rock Stadium on 6 September and The Pilates Journal Expo at Loews Miami Beach Hotel on 12–13 September.
For visitors looking to relax and recharge, Miami Spa Months continues through 31 August.
