Monica Galetti's Former Head Chef Hosts A Workshop In Beautiful Samoa



Our client, the Samoa Tourism Authority hosted a workshop with industry chefs in collaboration with renowned chef, Sven-Hanson Britt. The workshop aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of local chefs and promoting Samoa's cuisine in the global market.


Britt is a world-renowned chef with over 25 years of experience in the culinary industry. He has worked in some of the world's top restaurants and hotels, including the Four Seasons and Mandarin Oriental. More recently, he worked in London as Head Chef for Samoa born MasterChef judge and TV presenter, Monica Galetti, in her Fitzrovia based restaurant Mere.


Chef Britt is known for his innovative cooking techniques and his passion for using locally sourced ingredients. During his visit to Samoa, he met with local chefs to share his expertise and engage in discussions on the challenges and opportunities facing the industry. The workshop covered a range of topics, including menu development, food presentation, and culinary trends.


The event was attended by chefs from some of the country's leading hotels and restaurants, including Taumeasina Island Resort, Sheraton Samoa Beach Resort, and many others. The participants had the opportunity to learn from Chef Britt's experience and apply his techniques to their cooking.


The workshop was a crucial step in promoting Samoa's cuisine and enhancing the skills of local chefs. Samoa has a rich culinary tradition, and the workshop aimed to showcase the country's unique flavors and ingredients to the global market. In addition to the workshop, Chef Britt also had the opportunity to explore Samoa's natural beauty and cultural heritage. He visited some of the country's top attractions, including the Piula Cave Pool, Lalomanu Beach, and the Robert Louis Stevenson Museum. He also had the chance to sample some of Samoa's traditional dishes, including palusami, sapasui, and oka.
