Lock-down easing as work, schools and/or high street shops slowly resume.

Across the UK and Wales many families and friends have started to enjoy the new easing of the lock-down rules allowing small groups of up to 6 individuals maintaining social distancing of 2 metres outdoors which came into force at the beginning of June. Some still find it hard to limit themselves to 6 and others to respect the 2 metre rule. Meanwhile, the government is convinced the r factor and drop in cases and deaths will continue due to testing and tracking, while the medical profession appears to feel it is too soon. Restaurants and pubs are not due to open until early July. Some schools returned at the beginning of June in England and Wales for younger pupils respecting social distancing. Kew Gardens is open with visitors booking slots to visit, along with outdoors markets such as Portobello market. Horse racing and snooker competitions resumed behind closed doors, allowing some of the online betting companies to resume work. Today saw the cautious opening of high streets and imposition of masques to be warn on all public transport.

Demonstrations in London and across the UK continued at the weekend against the racist circumstances of the death of George Floyd in the US. These also showed different interpretations of distancing and personal sanitation e.g. wearing a face mask may not work if you pull it down to smoke a cigarette you then share with your nearby friends.....



The FCO reissued warnings for all but essential travel abroad and from 08 June strict quarantine rules on returning to the UK came inot play prompting comments from DNATA's CEO Europe, John Bevan: FCO must review indefinite travel ban now


The government has brought in new rules for furloughing and this may lead to redundancies over the coming weeks.


From today, 15 June, the airlines in the Lufthansa group, including Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Eurowings, Brussels Airlines and Edelweiss will serve more than 130 international destinations including 115 weekly flights to the UK and Ireland. While Easyjet started flying to several destinations and EasyJet Holidays puts Egypt winter packages on sale.
