Alison has 35+ years of experience in international PR and marketing and more recently digital marketing and social media in the hotel, airline, tourism, leisure and lifestyle industries. Alison was recognised in the Kings New Year Honours list 2023 for her services to the UK tourism and hospitality Industry. She has worked for clients on all continents and from every aspect of the industry – inbound, domestic and outbound. She has a hands-on approach and brings passion and drive to all client activities. Alison set up Representation Plus in 1988, acquired CIB in 2003 and First Public Relations in 2012. Before setting up Representation Plus Alison was Marketing Director worldwide for Copthorne Hotels, during which time she launched the Copthorne Brand and set up the hotel group's European Sales offices. Before this, she spent four years in hotel and restaurant management in France and Switzerland.
She has an enviable address book of personal contacts from members of the media including editors, writers and bloggers to the CEOs of trade associations, airlines, tour operators, MICE and travel agent consortia.
Her vast experience of brand development, the promotion of existing places and developing new locations has won awards such as the Travel Bulletin Award for top Middle East Tourist Board for Oman for two years running.
Her passions are; travelling with her family, playing “Real” Tennis and skiing. As well as enjoying every aspect of local culture: from music, opera, theatre and ballet, to food, drinks, art and the very soul of a place.
